Fairfield has landed a commitment from Seton Hall transfer Alexis Yetna.
For his career, Yetna averages 10.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. He’s played in 83 games (66 starts) over five seasons.
The 6-foot-8 forward first entered the transfer portal on April 14 and had plenty of high major interest. He took visits to Fairfield, Ole Miss and West Virginia before shutting down his recruitment. Multiple sources indicated he silently committed to Ole Miss, but the Rebels backed off after navigating eligibility issues with their roster.
Yetna will be an immediate impact player in the MAAC so long as he is healthy. The 24-year-old has a history of knee injuries that kept him sidelined for multiple seasons. Sources tell me the grad transfer should be back to full strength by conference play, but could contribute as early as December. Yetna fills a huge void in the Stags’ front-court after losing Supreme Cook to the portal.
