Recruiting Nuggets 10.13.23

All eyes will be on the Top Flight Invite this weekend, where a handful of top recruits will come off the board. Here’s what we’re hearing on those players and a few more as we near the early signing period.

Trent Perry

Perry is set to announce later today. We like the Trojans here.

Asa Newell

Newell just wrapped up his official visit to hometown Georgia. As we previously reported, Alabama is making a strong push to land the five-star power forward. Georgia still has the edge, but it may be a few weeks before a decision is made.

Derrion Reid

Reid recently released a top three of Alabama, Florida State and Georgia. He will visit Alabama this weekend and the Tide are very much the team to beat right now.

Derik Queen

Queen recently visited Houston and will take his final visit to Maryland next weekend. Maryland is considered the leader here and as of writing we see no reason to change that opinion.

Houston and Indiana bring interesting arguments to the table. Per source, Queen prefers Houston’s style of play over Indiana’s. Kelvin Sampson is tough on his guys and Queen came away from the visit impressed by their practice. Indiana has a solid NIL package and should land Queen’s best friend this weekend. The two have said their recruitments are independent of each other, but it’s still something to keep an eye on.

We’ll likely get a decision on this one early next month.

Zoom Diallo

Diallo’s recruitment has been all over the place. As of writing we see this as a three-team race between Arizona, Gonzaga and Washington. Alabama is still lingering around, but we give the edge to the two home-state schools right now.

Liam McNeeley

McNeeley will announce Sunday with Paul Biancardi. We made our prediction and we are sticking to it.

Jase Richardson

Richardson will make his decision this Sunday. We don’t have an official prediction in yet, but there’s been a lot of chatter about Alabama in recent days. Stay tuned to @trillydonovan for an update there.

Cooper Flagg

Flagg takes his official visit to Duke next weekend. The Blue Devils remain the favorite here. Flagg will announce his decision following the visit.

Pharaoh Compton

Compton is rumored to announce a decision this weekend. Iowa and San Diego State are the teams to watch here.

Mitchell Holmes

The Texas prospect will announce his decision later today. We like the Mustangs in this one.

KJ Greene

The four-star point guard will announce his commitment today. Looks for the Knights to take this one.

Chase McCarty

McCarty will announce his decision this afternoon. The Cougars are the team to beat here.
