The 2024 recruiting class is starting to take shape. Here are some quick hitters on a few prospects we’re tracking.
Liam McNeeley
McNeeley recently cut his list down to Indiana and Kansas. As of writing we don’t have an exact announcement timeframe, but there’s enough intel to suggest how this one ends.
Jayden Quaintance
Quaintance wrapped up a visit to Missouri last weekend and as of right now, they are the team to beat for the five-star big man. He still has visits to Cincinnati (October 13) and Kentucky (October 20) scheduled, but perhaps the biggest competition for the Tigers is the G-League. The professional route is a very real option for Quaintance, who isn’t eligible for the NBA Draft until 2026.
Billy Richmond
Richmond is deciding between two schools – Kentucky and Memphis, per sources. Richmond visited Kentucky recently and heads to Memphis this weekend. Kentucky has long been considered the favorite in this race, but Memphis has made up enough ground where it is currently too close to call.
Curtis Givens
Givens visited Memphis this weekend and this recruitment is very much trending in the right direction for the Tigers. The Memphis-native is in decision-making mode and we expect this to get wrapped up very soon.
Isaiah Elohim
Elohim announced a top-three of Arkansas, Kansas and Villanova. Kansas hasn’t been a factor in this one and Villanova has lost some steam after Elohim’s visit to Arkansas. This one should be over by the end of next week.
Rakease Passmore
Passmore’s recruitment could take an interesting turn leading up to his visit to Arkansas next week. If the Hogs land Isaiah Elohim, it could effect where Passmore ultimately lands. Arkansas is considered the favorite as of writing and there’s confidence around the program they’ll land a commitment before his visit to Kansas. One source indicated Elohim and Passmore would be willing to play together, but other schools may be able to take advantage of the situation. Kansas, LSU and Mississippi State are the other schools to watch if Passmore decides to go elsewhere.
