Drexel head coach Zach Spiker has hired Frantz Massenat as an assistant coach, per source.
Massanet played at Drexel from 2010-2014 and is considered one of the best players in school history. The Ewing, N.J. native started all 128 games he played as a Dragon. While at Drexel, he averaged 12.9 points, 4.3 assists and 2.8 rebounds. He was named to the CAA All-Freshman team in 2011 and made All-CAA First or Second team every year following.
Following his graduation, Massanet went onto have a successful professional career overseas. He played for eight years in various countries across Europe and was also a member of the Haitian national team.
Massanet returns to the states in his first coaching role. He joins a staff that already includes Will Chavis and Paul Fortier as assistant coaches, Jason Allison as chief of staff and Zack Duffy as director of basketball operations.
On the hire, Spiker said, “I love this addition for continuity in our program.” Spiker enters his eighth season at Drexel and expects to make a big jump. The Dragons are one of five teams that didn’t lose a player to the transfer portal this spring.
