The transfer portal is finally starting to cool down as we inch near the start of the fall semester. However, there are still players searching for schools and schools searching for players. Here are updates on two transfers still available in the portal:
Malcolm Dandridge

Memphis transfer Malcolm Dandridge entered the portal on May 10. He’s has had an interesting recruitment to say the least. The 6-foot-9 center has been connected to Michigan, Saint Louis and West Virginia in recent weeks. A potential return to Memphis still remains a possibility as well. On July 18, he teased “decisions coming soon” on his Instagram, but we’ve not seen any movement since. Independent sources from all four schools involved indicated that Dandridge went dark. I’m told no one has heard from him in at least a few days. Those same sources give the impression that “he has no idea what he wants to do” and remains indecisive about his future. Dandridge is a serviceable big man that would instantly add a proven frontcourt commodity to any team that decides to take him, but as of right now no one seems to know which team that will be.
Alexis Yetna

Seton Hall transfer Alexis Yetna has been in the transfer portal for over 100 days now (entered April 14). The 6-foot-8 grad transfer turns 26 in August and will be one of the oldest players in college basketball next season. Known visits include Fairfield, West Virginia and most recently Ole Miss (June 14). After his visit to Oxford, there was word that he silently committed to the Rebels, but that commitment was contingent on passing a physical. I’m told that in addition to concerns about his injury history, Ole Miss navigated around some eligibility concerns with big man Jamarion Sharp. This development lead them to pull their scholarship offer for Yetna.
Since then, Fairfield has re-emerged as a potential landing spot. The Stags are desperate for a frontcourt player and have a decent NIL package for a mid-major school. Yetna would be an immediate impact player and All-MAAC candidate if he chooses Fairfield.
