UPDATE: It appears that Scott has wiped any indication of his commitment to Providence from his social media account. There is reason to believe the Friars pulled his offer, but the reasons why are unknown. Stay tuned for further updates.
Providence has landed a commitment from D2 Central State guard Marcus Scott.
Scott heads to Friartown after averaging 14.0ppg and winning SIAC MVP last season. The 5-foot-11 guard has scored over 1,000 points in his career and adds depth to the roster after the departure of Alyn Breed.
If Scott is put on scholarship, Kim English’s first roster at Providence is complete. The Friars have the talent to flirt with an NCAA tournament berth and a top-half finish in the loaded Big East.
