Today’s Bets
UConn/Indiana Over 144.5
This is more an indictment of Indiana’s defense than anything else. UConn should get whatever shot they want against this team. The spread reeks of a game that could actually be competitive for a while too, so we’ll take the over.
Mississippi State -3.5 vs. Northwestern
This Bulldogs team is on a mission in the early going on they’ve played very well without Tolu Smith. Shakeel Moore is getting back into a rhythm and this team should have no problem shutting off Northwestern’s offense. The under is enticing here too, but Northwestern’s three-point defense is suspect and MSU has been shooting it better so far this season. Lay the points.
Texas -17.5 vs. Louisville
Auto-fade is back. First talented team Louisville has to face and it’s a doozy. Remember how last year’s MTE started for the Cards? This one might get ugly quick.
Western Michigan +21.5 vs. Ohio State
Back to the well with Western Michigan catching a big number against a Big Ten team. They nearly pulled the upset last time out against Northwestern and this team isn’t afraid of the name on the front of the jersey. Ohio State was only up six with nine minutes to go against Merrimack the other day. We’re banking on the Broncos staying within the number.
Marshall/Utah State Over 154.5
Marshall will be able to get out and run against a Utah State team that doesn’t mind pushing the pace. Last time out, Marshall was held to 62 points against a Radford team that slows the game down and plays iso-ball. They’re due for some positive shooting regression. The Aggies just gave up 84 to Southern Utah. Expect a competitive game that goes well over the number.
Arizona/UT Arlington Over 154.5
Arizona has scored at least 97 points in three of their four games. We need UT Arlington to get to 60. We think they can do it in an up-tempo game.
Dayton +12.5 vs. Houston
Something about Dayton and these MTEs. They’ll make enough threes today to keep it competitive. A backdoor cover is still a cover.
