Purdue -5.5 vs. Northwestern

Aside from Purdue being the superior team in almost every metric, this date has been circled on the calendars in West Lafayette since the schedule dropped. It’s a revenge spot and dare I say, Purdue is better than last year. Boo Buie will get his again, but it won’t be enough this time. Lay the points.

Maryland/Indiana Over 136.5

How long would it take the entire rosters of Maryland and Indiana to play a game of knockout from the three-point line?

I chose violence this morning with two of my favorite fan bases and I’m not sorry. BUT, both of these teams are due for positive shot regression, especially Maryland, who is about to face a defense that gives up 35.2% from 3p. Both of these teams are also very good at getting to the foul line, so we expect a lot of free throws in what should be a close game. Take the over.

South Dakota State -4.5 vs. Towson

South Dakota State is 3-4, but their record doesn’t do them justice. Their losses include a three point loss to UCF, a two point loss to George Mason and a five point loss to Akron. We’re also fading a Towson offense that struggles to get to 60 points. Lay the points with the better shooting team.

Xavier +8.5 vs. Houston

This line stinks. Xavier just lost at home to Oakland. Houston is 7-0 with an average margin of victory of 27.3 points. And Xavier is only an 8.5 point dog??? What??? We’re either going to look like complete morons or total geniuses. Hold your nose and play the X.
